Do espaço e dos homens: Identidade de grupo e traços de privatização do espaço e da propriedade na época neolítica

No que refere ao período neolítico, a sedentaridade é inferida a partir da presença de construções duráveis e agrupadas, identificadas como aldéias, onde marcas de atividade e de preparo alimentar convidam a reconhecer casas e edifícios comunitários. A morfologia de essas estruturas atesta várias formas de controle do acesso físico e visual no interior dos espaços construídos. Um tal dispositivo é interpretável como um conjunto de meios materiais de privatização : as formas da circulação das pessoas no espaço são investidas de efeitos de sentido “público” ou “privado”. A análise começa com a divisão do espaço da aldeia, passando em seguida à divisão do conjunto de seus habitantes por grupos. Unidades espaciais são identificadas mediante marcas de renovações sucessivas ; unidades sociais são reconhecidas como incluindo os mortos anteriores e a descendência. A conjunção durativa de essas duas categorias serve como base ao reconhecimento de formas precoces de propriedade inalienável. A forma de propriedade é discutida por comparação com o modelo sintático da propriedade moderna da terra, modelo caracterizado pela circulação das unidades espaciais dentro do espaço social, essa circulação sendo descrita em termos de aquisição, cessão e transferência. A análise conclui que não temos hoje traços certos da propriedade no periodo neolítico. A certeza relativa à propriedade privada aparece apenas com a escrita, quando documentos testemunham a circulação de bens imóveis entre as pessoas. Essa conclusão pode ser modificada por novos achados arqueológicos ou progressos metodológicos.
