Abstract

The objective of this article is to present and discuss self-regulated learning as a theme to be investigated as well as an educational practice. Referring to cognitive social theory and to the self-regulation construct embedded in it, this article portrays the development of this research field, models of self-regulated learning of Barry Zimmerman, Paul R. Pintrich and Pedro Sales Rosário, educational intervention proposals and considerations on future investigations.
