In this communication we will seek to see how aesthetics in its various forms feeds the expression of faiththrough the centuries, be it praising the wonder of creation, singing the goodness of God,
but also denouncing evil in all its insidious forms, proclaiming as God delivers and saves from all forms
of this evil. We will see how the faces of evil and salvation were revealed in a certain period of the recent history
of Latin America and how the post-Conciliar Church, which received the Council from the event
of the Second Conference of the Latin American Episcopate, in Medellín, Colombia, in 1968,
recognized these theopoetic expressions as legitimate and worthy of appearing alongside the liturgy,
theology and ecclesial language. We will conclude by seeing how these experiences also reveal
something about the mission of the theologian as theopoet and singer of the mystery of God.
