Abstract

This article analyzes the role of didactic planning in improving classroom management, student engagement and reducing school indiscipline, based on the face-to-face observation of three classes of different subjects in a 2nd grade high school class in a state public school. The analysis is qualitative and descriptive, based on participant observation. The classes were monitored with the aim of offering teaching support and proposing more effective teaching practices. The article shows how detailed planning, contextualization of content and active listening to students can transform the school environment, improve understanding of content and have a positive impact on both teaching practice and the teacher's quality of life.
