Statistical and Financial Concepts in a prison learning environment in the State of São Paulo

Abstract

The aforementioned text is derived from a master´s thesis entitled “Statiscal and Financial Concepts in a prison learning environment: a Case Study of a Mathematic teacher”. Thus, based on this research on this research, we intend in this text to highlight the statiscal and fincancial concepts presented in a textbook and revealed in na interview given by a teacher who workd in the Youth and Adult  Educantion (EJA) modality, at the High School, level in a prison unit in the State of São Paulo This is a qualitative research of documentar and Case Study type, whose strategy used to collect the data was the interview, through áudio capture. The theoretical  framework is based on authors such as: Lopes (2008); Guimarães and Gitirana (2013); Gal (2002); Sena (2017); Coutinho (2020), among others. The research results highlighted the need to develop a prescribed and pesented curriculum that ensures access and retention of students, as well as the peculiarities of the location. They also revealed the need for the teacher to bring to the prison classroom more than graphs containing real data, such as those displayed in the analyzed textbook which, although based on reality, are outdated, it is necessary for the teacher to stop problematization, that is, that follows the research paradigma, in which situations are proposed
that consider the contexto of detained students, aiming at the full exercise of theis citizenship.
